Are Expectations Hurting You or Helping You?

Embracing various parts of yourself brings a new level of healing from the emotional pain that comes from placing expectations on yourself.

I used to think curling your hair, wearing a new outfit and not showing your “flaws” (aka my cellulite) were MUST’s when attending a wedding.

It was SO freeing to rock my natural hair and a dress I recently wore at a wedding, without caring if the cellulite showed from my recent weight gain of flare ups and meds.

Will I always do this? I don’t know.

I may want to curl my hair and wear new outfits to weddings...but if I do, it’ll be because I simply want to and not because of an expectation I’m placing on myself that causes more negative emotions.

What is one expectation you want to let go of for yourself to let go of pain and frustration and to bring you more freedom instead?
