2019 Word: COMMITTED

My 2019 word was COMMITTED.

As I reflect on this past year, it has been one of my hardest years, not just in a long time, but probably in my life.

But by God’s grace and strength, I can honestly say I have stayed committed...

...in my relationships, in my life coaching program, in things I wanted to give up on but persevered through challenging seasons, in showing up for my clients, my small group, singing on worship, and other roles...committed in my one year Bible reading plan, reading books, investing in my mental/emotional/spiritual and physical health, strengthening my relationship with hubby & kids...all around!

Though MANY times imperfect (I missed about 111 days on my Bible reading!) God’s perfection was what was magnified either by the situation or in my own mind and heart when I used to be crushed by imperfection.

From even the smallest things, like finally finishing a Halloween wreath I bought 5 years ago and putting it out this year...or like sending out Christmas cards after 6 years of saying we would (albeit starting off REALLY small for financial reasons), I am still proud we did it last minute, imperfect and all! (I think I forgot to put our address on them 🤣)

To the big things...God is SO good!

I didn’t fulfill my word in the sense that I did things perfectly so I could give you a perfect, all-boxes-checked report...I fulfilled my 2019 word because I was committed to NEVER GIVING UP and not letting failures crush me because I knew I stood on an unchangeable, unconditional, and perfect foundation in Jesus.

Friends, it is freeing. And I know this is only the beginning.

I can’t wait to share with you my 2020 word!!!

But before that, how did your 2019 word go?! I’d love to hear!

We still have a few more days in the year to end it strong with whatever your word is!

She captured so well the strength I felt from God this year as He carried me through some of the hardest trials.
