Emotional Triggers

emotional-triggers.jpeg

Yesterday we shared physical triggers. Today, we talk about EMOTIONAL triggers. Our emotional pain can DEFINITELY make our physical conditions worse, WAY more than we realize.

We can literally make ourselves more sick from stress. So it is important to be aware of these things, so you can navigate through them healthily, and some may be more subtle than you think.

Some emotional triggers for me:
β€’ Yelling
β€’ Certain things from my past/PTSD

Here was a surprise/subtle one that I finally confronted and accepted: Not completing projects πŸ˜±

I didn't realize how it kept perpetuating my existing negative core belief that I'm unworthy and useless.

The interesting thing, was that I was ADDING more commitments and projects to fight this core belief, to the degree I couldn't keep up, and when I couldn't keep up, I'd believe these negative thoughts about myself even more. πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

Now that I am aware of this, I am CONSTRAINING more (saying no more and being more focused to the things I say yes to) so I can complete the things I believe God is calling me too, well.

This does not mean I am finding my worth in completing these projects. That is a whole other topic in itself, but it does mean that through this awareness, I am taking action on things I have control over to not only complete the projects I set out, but also minimizing my emotional pain (and therefore my physical pain) in the process. πŸ’ƒπŸ™ŒπŸΌ

What are some of your emotional triggers? Any that surprise you?

Two Weeks of Shelter In Place

shelter-in-place.jpeg

Summary of the almost 2 weeks of shelter in place:

β€’Wanted to turn into Hulk
β€’Felt the calm and peace of Jesus

β€’Wanted to run away to Mexico
β€’Was incredibly blessed to be with my babies

β€’Had the homeschooling down
β€’Homeschooling, what?!

β€’Felt empowered and confident
β€’Felt so weak and exhausted

Friends, this is all a part of life. We CAN learn how to manage and navigate through the ebbs and flows of our emotions and life, but know that it’s okay to not be okay and know that we aren’t always going to feel great about everything. It’s what you’re making the not so great times mean, that are important to note.

If you got a sneak peak into my brain and heart the last few weeks, you’d be like whaaat?! πŸ€”πŸ§πŸ˜²πŸ€ͺ

God never promised this life would be absent of challenges and pain, but He did promise that He would NEVER leave us or forsake us.

And not only is that true today in the midst of everything, but it was true then because of the βœοΈ, and because of the cross, it is true for ALL eternity! He will NEVER leave us!

Whether I have it all together or I’m Hulk or Runaway Mom status! πŸ€£

So know whatever state you’re in right now, whether you’re still transitioning, still struggling or maybe you are getting it down...you are not alone, and you are loved.

How has your 2 weeks been?

When we struggle to believe some of God’s characteristics and attributes at a time like this, we can look to His divinity.

Because of the βœοΈ, we can believe more and more that He truly is a

when it seems hard to believe them.

Cling to His truths, even when you struggle to fully believe them.

He is dependable to defend you in the process as you are delivered out of your unbelief. He is divine.
